Dr. Alyssa Backus

Dr. Alyssa Backus earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State in 2021 and began working for Cedar Animal Hospital in July 2024. “I chose to become a veterinarian because I value the unique bond between humans and animals,” explained Dr. Backus. “I also enjoy the variety of challenges of my day to day. Diagnosing and treating animals who cannot communicate what’s wrong requires a mix of problem-solving, observation, and medical knowledge, which makes every day both interesting and rewarding.”
